AT&T Business Reunites Rainn Wilson, Jenna Fischer, Craig Robinson, and more for “Dream with Rainn”

Source:

Campaign Overview

AT&T Business is bringing together Rainn Wilson, Jenna Fischer, Craig Robinson, Creed Bratton, Kate Flannery, and Brian Baumgartner on their journey to start a new company and launch a new product, all powered by AT&T Business.

We know our small business customers wear many hats and often find themselves in high-pressure scenarios that rely on the AT&T Network to get the job done. These ‘Next Level Moments’ need the Next Level Network.

This campaign leans into the adaptability required to start a small business, but with a comedic twist thanks to the beloved TV stars.

The Pitch

Speculation grew with Rainn Wilson’s LinkedIn posts and Instagram teaser, until a new commercial aired on Masters Sunday confirmed the rumors – Rainn Wilson is teaming up with AT&T Business to help launch Dream with Rainn.

In the commercial, Rainn declares he has a business idea that just might “change the world.” His idea – an innovative sleep aid pillow with Rainn’s voice incorporated alongside soothing sounds and inscribed: “Sleep with Rain.”

So, Rainn turns to his trusted former colleagues – Jenna Fischer, Craig Robinson, Brian Baumgartner, Creed Bratton, and Kate Flannery – to see who’s in.

The Launch

In the spot, we see Dream with Rainn’s leadership team gear up for launch day. Thankfully everyone is on board, but the level of dedication ranges as they prepare for the biggest – and only – launch in the company’s history.

“There’s never a dull moment when we get this crew together! As the social media manager in this business, I’m beyond thankful we have AT&T Business to share the chaos with the world,” said Fischer.

Despite hilarious and perhaps not surprising obstacles, Rainn’s dream becomes a reality thanks to the reliability of AT&T Business.

Empowering the Next Tech Titans: A Glimpse into AT&T’s Technology Development Program

Source:

As the Assistant Vice President in Technology & Talent Enablement, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing the journey of numerous young talents through AT&T’s Technology Development Program (TDP). I recall the story of Abigail Williams, who, after earning her engineering degree from the University of Oklahoma, struggled to find a job that felt “right.” That was until AT&T reached out to her through Handshake, opening a door to a unique career path.

Abigail shared with me, “That was the moment I understood that AT&T’s Technology Development Program was unlike any other. The program offered a chance to explore the company’s diverse sectors through a rotational system, allowing me to explore different skills and find my ideal career path. Ultimately, the company values solidified my decision to apply.”

Our TDP is a highly sought-after development program, receiving thousands of applications when our hiring cycle begins. We’ve designed it to launch students into rewarding technical careers and groom them for future technical leadership roles.

One of AT&T’s culture pillars, ‘Serving customers first,’ resonated with Abigail. This principle mirrored her personal belief in giving back to the community—a value ingrained in her since childhood, which solidified her decision to apply to AT&T. Upon acceptance into the program, Abigail relished the opportunity to build relationships with her colleagues, even extending their interactions into personal time with activities like playing volleyball and attending trivia nights.

I’ve also observed the journey of Michael Harman, currently in his second year with the TDP. His experience, particularly the expansion of his networking knowledge through his rotations and his budding friendships with many TDP colleagues, has been a joy to witness.

Sherwin Shahraray, an alumnus of the TDP program and current Technology Director, Supply Chain, also emphasizes the importance of relationship building. His advice to the current participants? “Build deep relationships with your peers in the program. They’ll be the backbone of your experience and the first members of your network as you grow up in the business.”

Our TDP program spans two to three years, providing the perfect timeframe for the participants to unravel the complexities of the industry, build a solid foundation of knowledge, and evolve into future industry leaders.

Eclipsing Expectations: AT&T’s Network Stayed Bright During Solar Eclipse

Source:

We monitored our network around the clock to help ensure spectators stayed ‘out of the dark’ during this year’s total solar eclipse.

While more than 32 million Americans watched the eclipse, we were busy watching our network spike. As totality hit across the United States, an increase of data usage followed when millions of viewers captured and shared the big moment. Smartphones became the lens through which we observed this rare phenomenon. More than 1.1 billion MMS messages were sent Monday – that’s 273 million more than a typical day. It’s amazing to see the power of our network firsthand, connecting so many people during such a historical moment.

It’s been 7 years since the last eclipse and it’s safe to say that a lot has changed. Our network is virtualized and can now handle much more capacity at much higher speeds. To put capacity into perspective, our network saw 168 petabytes of data on an average business day in 2017. In 2024, that number has exploded to 680 petabytes. And I know it’s hard to remember a time before 5G, but that was the case during the last solar eclipse. Since then, we’ve evolved and expanded our 5G network to reach more than 295 million people across 24,500 cities and towns becoming America’s most reliable 5G network1.

Today, gathering for large events – like the one I attended in the Discovery District – requires much less ‘prep’ than it used to. Less often do we rely on COWs (cells-on-wheels) to boost connectivity, and more often rely on neighboring cell sites to pick up network traffic to help ease congestion. That’s the power of a virtualized network.

At AT&T’s headquarters in Dallas, we had a front row seat for this eclipse and enjoyed taking part in this celestial moment alongside students, employees and attendees. I had the honor of speaking with and learning from former NASA astronaut José Hernández about his journey to space and how connectivity plays a role in everything we do. Our AT&T meteorologist, John Sisak, who plays a vital role in helping our network team prepare every day, gave us a first-hand look at how the weather was holding up across the country as people came together to watch this moment.

Network Performance Upgrade in the Pipeline for Tenaris

Source:

What’s the story? AT&T* is delivering global connectivity for Tenaris, a leading manufacturer of steel pipes and related services for the world’s energy industry and low-carbon energy applications.

Why is this important? Tenaris operates across multiple countries including Argentina, Uruguay, Italy, Brazil, Colombia, US, Romania, Canada, and Mexico. The Tenaris IT team needed greater visibility of the network to improve business efficiency, with increased levels of stability and support. The AT&T team completed a full audit of the customer’s current services and was able to streamline the number of circuits required, alongside turning up new connectivity at key Tenaris sites.

🇮🇱 Zion Oil & Gas Update: Encouraging Developments – April 8, 2024

April 8, 2024

Dear Zion Shareholders and Supporters,

As the Passover season approaches, marking a time of God’s miracles for Israel, we are pleased to share some encouraging developments in our MJ-01 recompletion project.

We have begun working on visa applications for our rig crew in preparation for their entry into Israel. Upon the completion of the work visa process, the crew will travel to Israel and begin inspecting the rig to make sure it conforms to industry requirements for workover operations. We anticipate boots on the ground by mid-Q2.

Afterwards, the crew will rig down, slide the drilling rig over several meters and rig up on the MJ-01 well location. The crew will then open the well and continue to follow the approved work plan in conjunction with the selected service providers. This should occur toward the end of Q2 or early Q3 depending on subsurface conditions encountered during the reopening phase and contractor scheduling availability.

We have made strategic adjustments to control both cost and time. Despite the typical delays during Passover, which this year begins on the evening of April 22nd and ends on the evening of April 30th, we have satisfied all regulatory requirements necessary to commence operations, including, as previously mentioned, approval by the Supervisory Committee. We are ready and will move forward following the holiday period.

Additionally, due to ongoing shareholder response, our Unit Program has been extended through Passover until April 30st. This provides a unique opportunity for those who wish to support our efforts to help ensure Israel’s energy future. You may learn more about this investment opportunity here.

Please keep Israel (especially during this time of war), our rig crew, and our Zion staff in your prayers as we lean on God’s faithfulness during these times. We are grateful for your unwavering support and will continue to provide updates as the MJ-01 recompletion project progresses.

With Shalom during this season of God’s miracles,

AT&T Commitment to Help Close the Digital Divide Increases to $5 Billion

Source:

With millions in the United States still lacking internet, isolating them from digital literacy skills and a pathway to economic opportunity, AT&T* announced today it is committing an additional $3 billion by 2030 to help close the digital divide, bringing the company’s total commitment to $5 billion since 2021. This cumulative commitment includes an ambitious goal to help 25 million people get and stay connected to affordable, high-speed internet access throughout this decade. Working to close the digital divide is the linchpin of AT&T’s mission to leave no one behind when it comes to online opportunity. This commitment is a pillar of the work the company does to help build this country’s digital infrastructure.

According to a Broadband Now study1, 42 million Americans still don’t have access to wired or fixed wireless broadband connections. And, many who do have access lack the digital skills to take advantage of the economic, health, education and social opportunities it provides. It is AT&T’s mission to help every American connect to greater possibilities by not only expanding access to internet connections, but also addressing affordability and adoption challenges. The company’s additional $3 billion commitment will address the main barriers to connectivity – affordability and adoption – for those who need it most.

“Connectivity is critical for success and prosperity in America today. Whether it’s a first-generation high school graduate applying for college, a veteran accessing telehealth services, or a grandparent connecting with their family thousands of miles away — we want to help unlock greater possibility for the millions of people who remain unconnected,” said AT&T CEO John Stankey. “The pace of innovation and the global economy aren’t waiting on anyone, and we’re committed to bringing connectivity and digital literacy in reach for all Americans.”

Since 2021, nearly 5 million Americans have benefited from our discounted internet service and digital literacy programs.

AT&T continues to expand its network of Connected Learning Centers (CLC) in communities across the country that are equipped with high-speed internet connections and computers supplied by Dell, Inc. Our CLCs provide access to these resources, with 37 centers currently operating with support from local non-profit organizations across fifteen states.

AT&T CLCs, such as the Salvadoran American Leadership and Educational Fund (SALEF) in Los Angeles, provide not only internet connections and computers but also the skills and training needed to help people safely navigate the online world. CLC’s serve kids, college students, adults and seniors with curriculum that teaches basic techniques for using email and search engines. Additionally, CLCs provide mentorship programs and customized instruction for those who need help accomplishing specific tasks online, such as paying bills, applying for jobs and submitting college applications.

“Coming to SALEF and utilizing their Connected Learning Center has allowed me to pursue U.S. citizenship,” said Leslie Gutierrez, who is originally from Honduras. “Without the computers and internet access within the CLC, I wouldn’t have been able to gather information as quickly or complete this process as efficiently as I did. The SALEF CLC allowed me to confidently pursue my path to citizenship, and for that I am incredibly grateful.”

“As a high school senior, I’m faced with a lot of big decisions concerning what comes after graduation,” said Gia Marie Duarte, student at Fairfax High School in Los Angeles. “Coming to SALEF made the process of figuring out my path forward a lot less daunting, as I was able to utilize the CLC to research and apply to colleges and universities. Thanks to the SALEF CLC, I have a lot to look forward to in my future.”

In addition to AT&T Connected Learning Center growth and impact, communities have seen:

  • More than $123 million in charitable contributions given to non-profit organizations that are on the frontlines of addressing the digital divide
  • 360,000 students reached through The Achievery, AT&T’s free digital learning platform in collaboration with after-school program organizations
  • 288,000 adults educated through digital literacy resources, courses and workshops in collaboration with Public Library Association, National PTA and other collaborators.
  • 245,000 laptops, devices or internet connection donations

Whether it is online safety curriculum or teaching people how to manage online transactions – seniors, students and others are exploring new worlds and feeding curiosities.

Increasing Coverage Throughout America’s Tribal Lands

More than a third of Tribal lands lack broadband connectivity2, and more than 18% of indigenous people have no internet access at all3.

Since 2021, more citizens on American Tribal lands can access education programs and healthcare resources virtually, explore new job opportunities and stay current on the latest news from home. AT&T has expanded network coverage on Tribal lands by more than 40% and have opened AT&T Connected Learning Centers on the Rincon and Pinoleville Pomo Nation reservations in California and the Cherokee Nation Tribal land in Oklahoma.

“The Rincon Tribe is committed to closing the digital divide within our reservation,” stated Bo Mazzetti, Chairman of the Rincon Tribe. “With the help and support of AT&T, we have built a computer resource lab for our tribal youth, seniors and residents that has already improved the lives of many through student activities and workforce development. It is our continued goal to help advance our people through technology and bring access to educational services to our community. We look forward to other tribes evolving like we have had the opportunity to do.”

Our additional $3B commitment will address the main barriers to connectivity – access, affordability and adoption – for those who need it most.

Connectivity Services: As the Federal Government’s Affordable Connectivity Program winds down later this spring – absent additional funding from Congress, AT&T will continue to offer our Access from AT&T service. Access makes the internet more affordable for customers by providing qualifying households with high-speed internet for $30 per month. This service includes Wi-Fi at no additional charge and does not include deposit fees. The company will expand connectivity offers to include AT&T Prepaid, Cricket and other connectivity solutions as they become available.

At the same time, AT&T will continue to advocate that policymakers renew funding for the Affordable Connectivity Program and find a long-term solution to support families most in need. People affected by the digital divide need policies in place to help stimulate the private investment needed to create more affordable, high-speed internet access.

Education Offers: AT&T continues to offer discounted wireless solutions to more than 135,000 public and private K-12 schools, colleges, and universities.

Public-Private Partnerships: For those areas hardest to reach with connectivity, public-private partnerships remain key to closing the gaps that still exist around the country. In the last three years, the federal government has provided unprecedented funding for broadband infrastructure, access and connectivity. Since 2021, AT&T has won competitive bids for funding to deploy more high-speed fiber broadband in 12 states including California, Louisiana and Texas. States also are gearing up to receive more than $41 billion in federal funds for building networks as part of the Broadband Equity, Accessibility and Deployment (BEAD) program. We’re looking forward to taking part in BEAD funding opportunities and helping to close the country’s remaining broadband gap.

Best-in-class 5G and fiber networks: With Fiber and 5G, we’ve aggressively expanded our coverage; increasing capacity, and strengthening network resiliency. Simply put, AT&T remains focused on becoming the best and most expansive network in America.

AT&T has the best global coverage of any U.S. wireless provider4 and the largest wireless network covering 99%5 of Americans, with 5G coverage reaching 295 million people in more than 24,500 cities and towns in the U.S., including more than 210 million people with 5G+.

AT&T’s Recipe for Success: Digital Transformation Program at Associated British Foods

Source:

What’s the story? AT&T* has deployed a next generation, software defined network with integrated zero trust access for Associated British Foods (ABF). The new highly secure, agile network platform supports ABF’s cloud strategy and is already delivering performance improvements across its federated operating companies at 170 sites around the world.

Why is this important? ABF+ is a diversified international food, ingredients, and retail group with global operations in 53 countries. Its brand portfolio includes a host of household names. ABF selected AT&T to manage their network transformation and deliver against six key business objectives: better business agility, improved performance, increased visibility and control, simplification and flexibility, security, and lower operating costs.

ABF’s structure allows for operational decisions to be made locally by the people with the best understanding of their customers and markets. By working closely with the stakeholders across each business and understanding their distinctive operating requirements, AT&T was able to design a single global consistent managed network – utilising SD-WAN technology at its core –  that is flexible enough to support the varying business needs but has the built-in intelligence to simplify operations.

This has enabled ABF to achieve reduced complexity and costs with no compromise on security or agility. AT&T was able to deliver this network transformation for ABF on time and with no impact to ongoing production and operations.
